Wa Workers Co-operative Credit Union one of the most leading credit unions in Ghana has provided funding support to the Wa Municipal Hospital’s Staff in procuring a Staff Welfare Bus.

The Bus procured will help ameliorate the mobility challenges bedeviling staff during special occasions. It will as well accelerate the finances of the Hospital’s General Staff Fund.

In an inaugural address, Management of the Hospital led by the Medical Superintendent of the Wa Municipal Hospital, Dr. Zakaria Bukari expressed gratitude to Management of WAWCCU for the financial and technical assistance given them during the procurement process.

He assured Management of WAWCCU the commitment of the hospital’s management in strengthening further, the friendship and the business relation they have had for some time now.

The Medical Superintendent also urged staff of the hospital who are yet to join Wa Workers Co-operative Credit Union to speed up accentuating that, the financial benefits attached to joining the union are enormous.

He charged management of the Staff Welfare Fund to ensure there is transparency and accountability in the dealings of the fund. “Transparency is very important, I will urge you to ensure that there is accountability and transparency in whatever the fund is been used for” Dr. Zakaria stated.

On her part, Manageress of the Wa Workers Co-operative Credit Union, Hajia Alimatu Issaka participating as the special guest of honour during the handing over ceremony of the Sprinter Mini Bus, expressed joy over the confidence Management of the Wa Municipal Hospital reposed on WAWCCU by soliciting for financial and technical assistance from the Union.

She thanked the hospital’s staff for continuing to transact business with WAWCCU and assured management that the doors of the most leading credit union in the region will always be opened for them.

The Manageress seized the opportunity and educated participating staff of the hospital on the tailor made products and services the Credit Union renders to the general public including health workers.

She appealed to the public to open accounts with WAWCCU and stand the chance of benefiting from the tailor made products and services.

Also, Abdulai Yahaya Alhaj, Chairman of the Wa Municipal Hospital General Staff Welfare Fund blithely expressed his happiness over the ability of the fund in defying all odds to procuring the vehicle.

He used the opportunity and appealed to other staff who are yet to join the fund to do so, adding that the fund under his leadership will inure to the benefit of its members.

Alhaj Yahaya further extended his grattitude to management of WAWCCU for accepting to support the fund in the execution of the task. He thus indicated the commitment of the fund towards strengthening their ties with the Credit Union.

He called on other staff of the hospital to open accounts with WAWCCU stressing that it is the only financial institution that will always avail itself to the services of staff as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Dr. Damea Punguyiri, Upper West Regional Director of Health Services congratulated the Hospital Staff for the initiative and charges them to ensure that the bus is used for the intended purpose.

He underscored the significance of Staff Welfare stressing that with the purchased vehicle, it will mitigate the challenges of having to depend on others for means of transportation during special occasions.

The Regional Health Director on behalf of the Directorate expressed his profound gratitude to WAWCCU and the Wa Municipal Hospital Staff Welfare for the superb move taken.
