Alhaji Uthman Al-Hassan Gbangu Funds Borehole Repairs to Solve Water Crisis in Dandafuro

In a move that underscores a deep-seated commitment to rural development, Alhaji Uthman Al-Hassan Gbangu has facilitated the restoration of clean water for the residents of Dandafuro Electoral Area.

Recognising the severe hardships caused by a broken-down borehole—the community’s primary water source—Alhaji Gbangu made a significant cash donation of GH₵4,000 to the Assembly Member for the area to ensure the facility is repaired immediately.

The contribution was received on behalf of the community by Mr Adams Elyasu, popularly known as "Kpak", the Assembly Member for Dandafuro. Mr. Elyasu expressed immense gratitude for the gesture, noting that it directly addresses the most pressing challenge facing his constituents today.

"Water is life. It is fundamental to human survival, health, and dignity. Access to clean water supports hygiene, prevents waterborne diseases, and sustains livelihoods," a representative for Alhaji Gbangu stated during the presentation.

Before this intervention, the broken borehole had placed a heavy burden on the local population. Women and children were often forced to travel long distances, sometimes under harsh weather conditions, to fetch water from alternative and often unsafe sources.

The repair of the borehole is not just a technical fix but a safeguard for the health and well-being of the community. Local residents have praised the intervention as a vital move that restores dignity and ease to their daily lives.

Alhaji Gbangu’s latest philanthropic act is part of a wider pattern of community engagement across the Upper West Region. From providing vocational tools for youth empowerment to investing in critical social infrastructure, his approach remains focused on practical, grassroots solutions.

Observers have noted that his generosity transcends political affiliations, rooted instead in a genuine desire to see local communities thrive. As work begins on the Dandafuro borehole, the local residents continue to voice their appreciation for the man they affectionately call "De Lion."
