“So you have ideas you did not give to Akufo-Addo to solve the problems we’re facing, you’re simply wicked” Mornah fires Bawumia
Spread the love

Former National Chairman of the People’s National Convention Bernard Angbataayela Mornah punches Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for telling Ghanaians that he has new ideas to salvage the current economic woes of Ghana if given the nod to rule Ghana.

The PNC former Chairman describes the veep as being wicked for hiding those ideas from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if only they could serve as an antidote to Ghana’s economic quagmire.

“So you have ideas that you did not give to Akufo-Addo to solve the problems that we are facing, you’re simply wicked, because you decided that Akufo-Addo should fail so that you can come up” Mornah fires.

According to him, the economic management team that leads the country’s economy to slack off is no longer fit for purpose and elements from such a team should not be given any space to lead the NPP or the country.Bernard Mornah, Former National Chairman, PNC

While commenting on the state of affairs of Ghana and the NPP Presidential Primaries on Radio Waa Yelkaabahe’s program, Tuesday August 8, 2023 the outspoken PNC Ex-Chairman says any of the other aspiring Presidential candidates of the NPP could lead the party except for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, former Minister of Food and Agriculture, and Alan Kodwo Kyeremanteng, Former Minister for Trade and Industry, stressing that the three played roles in driving the economy into disarray.

“Everyone that has participated in Akufo-Addo’s 8 or 7 years of governance should not be elected if the NPP wants to have any slightest chance of coming close to 2024 so I keep telling you Kwabena Agyapong, Kenedy Agyapong, probably Kofi Konadu Apraku these people are stainless but you supported to drive the economy into a ditch and you want Ghanaians to give you the chance to do what” He quizzed.

Mr. Bernard stated that Ghanaians should not be surprised that the vice president gets defeated after the primaries adding that, all the 16 regional chairmen supported former General Secretary of the NPP John Boadu, but he was voted out, he stressed that President Kuffour supported Alan Kodwo Kyeremanteng but Akufo-Addo defeated him to become the party’s Flagbearer and subsequently president of Ghana.

“Upper West Regional Minister is a supporter of Bawumia, all the DCEs are supporting Bawumia, they had the tacit approval of the president to do that. Akufo-Addo made all the 16 regional chairmen to go and raise their hands that they all supported Joan Boadu but he was flatly defeated and you people played him the song ‘don’t sleep! don’t sleep! wake up! collect your money…” he laughed.

On corruption

Bernard Mornah expressed dissatisfaction over the Nana Addo led governments’ attitude towards the fight against corruption stressing that the President’s attitude towards his appointees accused of corruption related offences is very disappointing.

“President Akufo-Addo told us he’s incorruptible but he is the number one corrupt person in Ghana because if you appoint people and they are corrrupt it means that you’re also corrupt. The president cleared Pious Hadzede of the Australian visa corruption scandal till date have they found the one who committed the act. We were here when Ken Agyapong told us that some some deputies Chief of Staff were charging people at the Flagstaff house before they could sit close to the president, the president came and defended them. We were in Ghana  So if the president comes to clear them of the rots then what do you say? Recently the Minister in Charge of Lands and Natural Resources went into the forest to chase out people who were destroying the land in the name of galamsey, they came across a company call Akunta Mines that was having a prospecting license but they were mining so the minister chased them out later on they got know that the company belongs to the Ashati region’s NPP chairman, Akufo-Addo came out and said the company was having mining license” he stated.

He says the country’s curren economic woes must not be tied to COVID-19 and Russia Ukraine war but the actions and inactions of the NPP government played a significant role in driving the economy into tatters.
