Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has openly declared his support for the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party ahead of election 2024.

Whiles praying with congregants of the Fountains Gate Chapel in Wa on Sunday, June 4, 2023, the Minister sought for blessings, good luck and guidance for the Veep as the party approaches its Presidential Primaries soon.

“I sincerely belief that your prayers are directly heard by God and with your prayers, I know that, the Vice President Dr. Bawumia who is aspiring in the flagbearership race will surely be elected to lead the NPP break the agenda of Breaking the Eight in the upcoming 2024 elections” he indicated.

The Minister in the company of some key officials from the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council converged at the Fountain Gate Chapel- Sanctuary Pastures in Wa for a thanksgiving ceremony to express gratitude to God for saving the Upper West Region from the deadly Novel Coronavirus Pandemic( COVID 19).

At the height of Covid 19, public gatherings were banned by the government of Ghana as part of measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus which by far has claimed Fourty Six lives within the Upper West Region.

The proceedings started shortly after 10:00am with congregants lifted in high spirit through song ministration by the Anointed Sanctuary Pastures Choir.

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih explained that the ceremony was necessitated following the President’s directive to all Regional Coordinating Council’s to hold a three days of thanksgiving event for Ghana’s attainment of a Covid 19 Free status as announced by the World Health Organisation ( WHO).

He mentioned that, God indeed deserves our praises as a region adding that, the Upper West Region had recorded a total of 996 people contracting the Covid 19 deadly virus and out of which, 950 of the victims were treated and discharged and 46 people lost to the cold hands of death.
” As I speak, 398,154 people within the region have had one dose of the Covid 19 vaccine whilst 299,154 have fully been vaccinated against the Novel Coronavirus”he added.
He urged the good people of the Upper West Region to utilise the window of hope which is till opened and to get themselves vaccinated against the deadly virus.

Delivering the sermon, Rev. Bernard Anchebah, Head Pastor for Fountain Gate – Santuary pastures stated that God set the standard of his Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo to lead us and prepare us out of the Coronavirus pandemic.

“So as a result of the Messiah’s intervention, they shall reverently fear the napme of the Lord from the West and his glory from the rising sun. when the enemy come in like floods,the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to fight for he will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives” Issiah 59:19.
He continues ” Our Hope’s during the peak of Covid 19 were sustained by the regular engagement of his Excellency President Akuffo Addo, through the Regular fellow Ghanaians serials coupled with the supply of Free water and Free Electricity” he said.

Rev. Achebah, eulogised Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih for his exceptional role in bringing all major stakeholders together and leading the fort in the region to fight the novel deadly Coronavirus and which results have led the region this far.
