Alhaj Mahama Iddrisu one of the founding members of the NDC, also Chairman of the National Council of Elders for NDC has indicated that Upper West Region has a special place in the umbrella family stressing that, there must be great circumspection in the manner functionaries of the party conduct themselves in their quest to electing the party’s Regional Executives.
He charged members of the NDC in the region to elect leaders who can properly lead the party to victory come 2024.
“Let’s conduct this election with honesty, don’t go and select people who can not lead us, let’s select people who can lead us to power” Alhaj Mahama noted.

Whiles addressing members of the NDC in Wa during the party’s Regional Executives elections on November 12, 2022, the NDC stalwart preached the need for peace and unity to prevail before, during and after the party’s internal elections, urging members to see themselves as family members.
“If we fight among ourselves it means we can’t win but if we work as a family we can win all our eleven constituencies” Alhaj Mahama Iddrisu stated.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency and Chairman of the Upper West Region’s MPs Caucus, Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpou indicated that, the NDC is on the verge of taking power come 2024 urging functionaries of the umbrella root to conduct themselves well to keep the party in a very good position of securing power come 2024 general elections.
“We are at the verge of moving forward to taking power in 2024, let’s work in unity and with all honesty to secure victory in the upcoming general elections”.

He also assured the NDC members that the Upper West MPs caucus in parliament will continue to show true representation.
However, 407 delegates are expected to cast their votes in the ongoing NDC Regional Executives elections in the Upper West Region whiles 40 candidates are aspiring for the various leadership positions.
