Wa Municipal Director of health services, Dr. Kingsley Pascal Mwin has revealed that 22 people who tested positive for COVID-19 including 2 health workers have all been treated and discharged. He indicated that as of July 17, 2020 there Municipality has no active case of COVID-19. He made this known during a meeting held at the Municipal Health Administration.
Dr Pascal further stated that the health directorate has stopped conducting aggressive testing due to logistics constrains and was quick to add that a directive from the headquarters of the Ghana Health Service has backed the current development of no aggressive testing.
He was happy to mention that the Wa Municipality has not recorded any community spread in COVID-19 out of the over700 people tested.
The Director calls for the strict adherence to the laid down COVID-19 protocols emphasisng that wearing of noise masks must be given the needed attention.
The Upper West region has recorded 75 COVID-19 positive cases in total while the country as a whole recorded 28,430 after some 763 new cases were recorded leaving 24,901 cases treated and discharged whereas the death toll is at 153. as of July 21, 2020.
