One of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s stalwarts in the Wa East constituency of the Upper West Region, Mr. Salifu Yakubu who aspires to lead the party to the 2020 general elections promised delegates in the constituency to be their good servant as he was optimistic that he is the only person who can lead the party and bring the needed face lift the constituency desires.
He indicated that, given the nod the NPP will be more vibrant as he has garnered a lot of experience and knows what the party needs. Empowerment of delegates and party folks including branch and polling stations executives were part of his intentions in bringing change to the NPP in Wa East.
Mr. Yakubu also revealed his intention of establishing a well furnished party office at Bulenga and Funsi for the administration of the party affairs.
The candidate who was speaking with strong convections promised to embark on a clean campaign devoid of insults and vilification of his counterparts in this battle.
He added that, if delegates decide to give their mandate to any of the contenders in the race, he will support the person with all his heart in order to ensure that the NPP retains the seat.
Mr. Yakubu charges delegates to give their mandate to him for development at its fastest pace and for the rapid growth of the party as he holds the believe that he has what it takes in bringing people from all walks of life to the elephant family in the Wa East constituency.
The candidate made these revelations at Bulenga in the Wa East district on Wednesday February 19, 2020 after filling his nominations form.
Mr. Salifu Yakubu, incumbent Hon Godfred Bayong Tangu as well as Dr. Adam Yakubu Sorikoung and one other aspirant are those going for the sprint in the Wa East constituency in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries slated for April this year as Majeed Nasir could not file his nominations to be part of the race.
