Parliamentary Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party for the Wa East constituency Hon. Salifu Yakubu cuts sod for the construction of seven (7) boreholes in the constituency. The boreholes are to be constructed on the squares of some major markets in the district.
Addressing the people present during the sod cutting ceremony at Loggu, Hon. Salifu explained that the boreholes being part of the president’s interventions towards the fight against COVID-19 will be sited at the seven (7) major markets to provide water for traders.
The sod cutting ceremony was done at Loggu Market Thursday, July 9,2020 to commence the drilling of the boreholes in the various markets. The PC mentioned Loggu, Bulenga, Kundugu, Funsi, Kulkpong, Kpaglahi and Kpalworgu markets as those markets that are going to get the boreholes constructed.
Meanwhile, Hon. Salifu Yakubu advised community members to continue to adhere to the WHO safety protocols to enhance the fight against Covid-19. He appealed to the community members to cooperate with the contractors an keep check on them to ensure quality work is delivered. He also seized the opportunity and thanked President Nana Akufo Addo for the kind gesture and as Oliver twist “We will always ask for more” he added.
The Parliamentary Candidate was accompanied by the District Chief Executive of the Wa East district, Hon. Moses Jotie, Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Saeed Samsideen(Big Sam), the constituency Secretary, Mr. Basuglo Yussif, as well as constituency research officer of the party including elections officer of the NPP, Mr Abdulai Yahaya and other NPP’s folks.
