Wa East: NPP’s Parliamentary candidate supports BECE candidates with PPE
Spread the love

Parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party for the Wa East constituency, Hon. Salifu Yakubu has supported students from Wa East constituency  who are sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with 1, 128 pieces of hand sanitizers and 1,095 nose masks as part of measures to ensure that the candidates are safe and protected through out the exams period without contracting the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at the various exams centers.

He made the donation on Sunday September 13, 2020 during a tour made to the three exams centers in the Wa East district namely Funsi, Bulenga and Loggu.

Interacting with the candidates ahead of the examination, Hon. Salifu Yakubu indicated that’ the fear of candidates not being able to proceed to the next level of their educational ladder as a result of parents inability to afford school fees for their ward at the second cycle institutions is now a thing of the past as a result of the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy under the watch of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He said the policy has taken away the burden of parents having to work out the odds to get money for their wards fees adding that, it is now left on to the candidates themselves to do the needful by passing their exams in order to enjoy the FSHS policy stressing that the BECE candidate should endeavour to take advantage of the policy.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary candidate admonishes the BECE candidates to desist from indulging in exams malpractices stressing that this stage will determine their next faith on the academic ladder.

Hon. Salifu Yakubu is the one leading the NPP into this year’s elections sprint and will be battling with Dr. Jasaw of the NDC and other parties PCs for the Wa East parliamentary seat that is currently occupied by the NPP.
