The parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wa Central constituency of the Upper West Region, Hajia Humu Awudu Rashid celebrated this year’s Christmas with thousands of constituents in the Wa Central.
The candidate popularly called Yelmaana has succeeded in putting smiles on the faces of the less privilege with her project “Smile with the less privilege this Christmas”. She celebrated with 12 communities in the constituency, she did this through the Hajia Humu Foundation (HHF). HHF is aimed at supporting the less privilege and start-ups to improve upon the livelihood of the people.
The communities included, Charia, Zingu, Dapuoha, Seyiri, Sagu,Tampieni, Dandaforu, Piisi, Kagu and Gurumuni where hundreds of less privilege women were given well packed hampers to aid their Christmas celebrations. Sambo and Kpaguri within the Wa township were not left out in the yuletide period.
Hajia Humu Awudu being the first female parliamentary candidate to contest the Wa Central seat called on the women to support her parliamentary ambition.
She added that, supporting Hajia Humu is supporting the cause of women nothing, parliament is not for men only but for both genders.
Scores of women at Sagu, Zingu and Dapuoha sang at the top of their voices and danced with the Parliamentary Candidate to express their joy and happiness over the gesture, whiles assuring the Parliamentary candidate of their total support ahead of the 2020 elections.
