As part of processes towards finding better and sustainable ways to solving the canker of unemployment in the country through the use of technology, the Ghana Tech Lab in collaboration with Yison Tech Hub are set to hold a stakeholder engagement program geared towards brainstorming and thinking through the many ways of finding sustainable employment for the teaming youth across the country.
The theme for this stakeholder engagement is dubbed” The Role Of Digital Media In Transforming The Local Economy For Job Creation And Economic Development”.
The engagement seeks to bring key stakeholders together to outline the skills gap, challenges, opportunities, strategies and the collective policies for transforming the local economy to achieve sustainable development through digital skills and entrepreneurship.
Key industry players in the tech sector such as Yison tech hub and the Ghana tech lab are looking forward to receiving feedbacks that will help in the formulation of policies with the future in mind, this will be made possible through a policy document that will feed into the development of a well-structured and informed curriculum and ultimately, a roadmap for achieving a local digital economy through digital media transformation in Ghana.
The objectives and aims of this program according to Yison Tech Hub, the Upper West heartbeat of technology, also the Centre fold for this event indicates that, the engagement will help create a collaborative and consultative platform for stakeholders to drive the digital skills entrepreneurship.
To inform and identify current market needs of industries/companies/job market and skills gaps, this will help single out and bridge the gap.
Again, the occasion is also meant to facilitate and deepen relationships and collaboration among local players, to forge focused agenda in the area of job creation for the youth, and foster ecosystem synergy.
The above objectives among many others will be the focal point of the engagement that will be held at the Yison Tech Hub on the 22nd of April, 2021 in the Upper West Regional Capital Wa.
