Former President John Dramani Mahama through the NDC in the Upper West Region donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help the fight against coronavirus in the region. The items donated include 2 boxes of disposable coveralls, 4 boxes of gum boots, 2 boxes of Sterile latex surgical gloves, one box of disposable face shield and one box of ceftriaxone costing about GH¢50,000.00.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Former President to the Regional Health Directorate, Sir Dr. Gyader stated that, the items are given to support equip the directorate to fight the novel coronavirus and the devouring Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis (CSM) in the region. He called on the good people of the region to all join hands in the fight urging citizens to abide by the laid down protocols and keep to the regular hand washing and application of hand sanitizers.
Dr. Gyedar expressed worry over the high cases of CMS after the region recorded 214 cases with 33 mortality, indicating that, Upper West usually records cases of CMS every year calling on stakeholders to help prevent it from first coming into the region rather than always doing the damage control. This, he said “we are within the endemic zone of the CSM in Africa”.

Sani Nasirideen (Bunas), former MCE, Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha including both past and current Regional and constituency executives of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress.
