Upper West Regional Chairman of the People’s National Conversion (PNC) Charlse Bukari has endorsed the candidature of Hon. Samson Asaki Awingobit to lead the PNC to the 2020 general and thus called on delegates of the party to decide in his favour during the party’s primaries.
The Chairman noted that, the party for sometime has been silent leaving the NDC and the NPP to be the only parties managing the affairs of the party despite PNC being the third political party in Ghana after the two major political parties.
Chairman Bukari says the candidate Awingobit has been an outspoken person and very energetic to do what it takes to bring light and breath to the party ones again and secure the presidential seat on the ticket of the NDC.
Meanwhile, PNC’s parliamentary candidate for the Sissala East Constituency, Lawyer Kanton Kassim Kingsley says the party could not win more seats in the 2016 general election because of the inability of their leaders and falgbearer to tour the country and campaign but rather chose to seat in Accra and mismanage funds meant for the party leaving the party without resources.
He further stated that, the two political parties NDC and NPP were never better than the PNC 10-20 years back but for the mismanagement of party resources by some leaders of the party, PNC is in this current state. Lawyer Kingly admonished delegates not choose a leader that will sconder the party’s funds and divert the party’s cars to themselves.
This was made known in Wa the regional capital of the Upper West Region on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 during an interaction with delegates of the party prior to the conduct of their internal elections to get a flagbearer for the party in the up coming general elections.
