MTN Ghana, one of the leading telecommunication networks in Ghana has supported some selected hospitals in the Upper West Region with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as part of their contribution to the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) in the region.
Addressing the occasion at the Upp West Regional Hospital on Tuesday September 8, 2020, Upper West Regional Branch manager of MTN Ghana, Kofi Owusu said the donation has been done as part of their quota to the fight against the novel coronavirus charging beneficiaries to put the items donated into good use to accomplish the purpose for which they were acquired.
On his part, Medical Director of the Wa regional hospital, Dr. Robert Amesiya expressed gratitude to management and staff of MTN Ghana for the gesture allaying their fears that the 3000 face masks donated came in at the right time and will be used judiciously.
Meanwhile, the Upper West branch of MTN Ghana also extended similar gesture to the St. Joseph Hospital in Jirapa in the Upper West Region.
Addressing management and staff of the hospital, Mr. Kofi Owusu Upper West Regional Manager of MTN appreciated the good works of the health workers especially in handling of patients despite the pandamic stressing that, MTN Ghana thought it wise to support them with 2, 700 face masks to protect themselves.
Mr. Cosmas Beyuo Administrator of St Joseph Hospital-Jirapa who received the items on behalf of workers of the facility thanked MTN Ghana for coming to their aid stressing that they had some forms of PPE(s) from other donors adding that MTN’s donation will boost their stores with enough PPE(s).
