John Dramani Mahama’s running mate for the 2020 general elections, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has strongly stated that H.E John Dramani Mahama and the NDC party are the only people who respect women.
She said John Dramani Mahama upon the respect he has for women appointed her to stand on behalf of women for the 2020 polls and to become the first female vice president if the polls go in favour of the NDC.
“I want remind all of us here that it is H.E John Dramani Mahama that respected and of course the NDC as a whole that respect women. It is women who benefits most from development projects, let me use the example of water, when there is no water who goes to fetch water? women and they go with our daughters, so when there is water who benefits most, the women, when a girl child fetches about five-six buckets of water before she goes to school and isn’t likely for her to go to school tired? And if she goes to school tired isn’t she going to sleep in school? And they will turn round and say the girl don’t do well. If you bring water they will do well, which party brings water, the NDC so you see the party that respects women, it is the NDC who builds good markets, so the market is also an office for women in this country”.
Addressing constituents of DBI in Kojokperi on Saturday November 21, 2020 as part of her two-day campaign tour of the Upper West region Prof Jane urged constituents of the Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI) to do their campaigns and vote peacefully without any form of violence adding that, any statement that will jeopardise the peace and stability of the country must be eschewed.
Professor Jane explained that politics is about development and elections are held to choose the best person to roll the wheels of development hence her plea to constituents of DBI to choose H.E John Dramani Mahama and the Parliamentary candidate for the NDC Hon. Sabastian Sandaari come December 7 polls.
“The election in simple put is all about development and I think this is what politics is all about. It is not about insults, it is not about violence, it is not about flirting muscles, it is not about saying am better than you. No one is better than another person. We can all play our various roles and that is what is required for nation building”.
Prof Jane further indicated that the National Democratic Congress’ manifesto embraces everybody irrespective of their caliber and background.
She said John Dramani Mahama has opened the door for women and it is now time for the women to appreciate the good works and the respect H.E John Mahama has for women by voting massively for him and the NDC come the December 7 general elections.
