After the first edition of the Upper West Music Awards was successfully held and distinguished nominees awarded, a successfully nominee diner was also graced.
The UWMA board who took another step of promoting peace and unity in the industry and the region as well, paid a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Police Headquarters together with the Artiste of the year and the New Artiste of the year.

The Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter Ndekugri interacting with the UWMA board and the Artistes in his office, seizes the opportunity and advised artistes in the region to stay off from the abuse of drugs and other substances.

He again urged them not to associate themselves with criminal elements stressing that their stay away from criminals will help them on the long run.
“Don’t let your head to be swollen too much, don’t go into drugs like weed and tramol, if you want to achieve something in life, don’t be flaunting with women and drugs and think you are ok because you are nothing”.

Also, Chief Inspector Alhaji Ziblin Iddi Abubakari also congratulated the winners and told them the sky is their limit and also pleaded with them to work hard to project the Upper West Music industry and the region as well to the national level
