A level 300 student of the University for Development Studies Wa campus now (UBIDS) in the faculty of school of business and law, Solomon Owusu, 27years is currently admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and needs GHS2billion to undergo kidney transplanting.
According to doctor’s report, Solomon is suffering from kidney failure, all his two kidneys have been damaged and he is placed under dialysis twice every week which costs GHS800.00 excluding drugs.
As a result of the incident, he has deferred his academic programme for the whole year in order to respond to treatment, Solomon has already gotten a donor to support him with kidney but the huge amount needed for the kidney transplanting in India has left him helpless.
Doctors say if Solomon fails the dialysis for a week his chances of living will be in doubt meanwhile, the dialysis will only help him for some time but he has been placed on it for a period of nine months now and his situation needs urgent attention.
Solomon Owusu is appealing to the general public including government and NGOs to come to his aid as he is on the verge of losing his life to kidney failure.
