Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has appealed to chiefs and traditional leaders in the region to continue supporting and advising him on issues concerning the development of the Upper West Region.
Dr. Hafiz acknowledged the support and advises bestowed him by the chiefs and traditional leaders in the region during his first term as Upper West Regional Minister and was optimistic that the traditional leaders will not let him down in his quest to developing the region.
He accentuated that, for the region to develop, all hands must be on deck especially with the support of traditional authorities adding that, he will continue to provide leadership more than he used to do in his first term. The Minister therefore charged the chiefs not to hesitate in calling on him whenever the need arises.
He further stated that the second term of the NPP government under H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will ensure the completion of all the road projects started in the region before the expiration of their first term adding that, the President of the republic is committed to the continuation of all the policies and programmes that inure to the benefit of the Ghanaian citizen.
The Minister made the appeal when he called on the Daffiama Naa and his elders at his palace in Daffiama on Saturday March 20, 2021.
On his part, the Paramount Chief of the Daffiama Traditional Area, Naa Dikumwine Domalae II, assured the Regional Minister of his support to ensuring that the Upper West Region gets the needed developmental projects. He said he was not surprised to have witnessed the reappointment of Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih as Upper West Regional Minister for the second term stressing that Dr. Hafiz has distinguished himself with his good works in the region.
The Minister also called on the Paramount Chief of Lawra Traditional Area Naa Pouwelle Karbo III and officially introduced himself as the reappointed Upper West Regional Minister. He beseeched for the Chief’s blessings and promised not to look down upon some of the developmental projects started by the NPP before they lost the Lawra parliamentary seat.
Naa Pouwelle Karbo III, paramount Chief of the Lawra traditional area congratulated the Minister for getting the attention of the President to re-apoint him based on his good works. He urged the Minister to strive hard in pulling to the region, programmes and polices that will aid the forward match of the region.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih ended his Saturday’s tour at Lambussie where he interacted with the Chief and elders of the Lambussie traditional area. He assured the Bussie Kuoro that the NPP government will ‘pay’ them in due course for the support offered them in securing the Lambussie Parliamentary seat.
The Minister says, plans are underway to get the Lambussie township roads tared and was quick to add that the Lambussie district is part of the five districts earmarked for district hospitals to be built by the government.
However, Paramount Chief of the Lambussie traditional area Bussie Kuoro Issaka Zeng’eh Kazie Tenjie II who was excited to have heard the Ministers’ reassurance of government commitment in delivering on its promise stated that, the people of Lambussie will forever be grateful for what the government has done for them in its first term and wish that more of governments’ policies and programmes are being pushed down to his paramountcy.
