President of the republic H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed the reopening of schools for final year students ranking from JHS to tertiary levels with precautionary measures.
The reopening according to him is to aid the final year students sit for their final year examinations for a successful exit. Nana Addo further revealed that the ministry of education will provide every student, teacher/lecturer reusable noise masks amidst fumigation of the schools before 15th June, 2020.
President Nana Addo also lifted the ban on religious activities effective 5th June 2020 with strict measures to be adhered to in the midst of COVID-19. He said religious activities can take place with a maximum of 100 people observing the needed social distancing. He again directed the fumigation of all churches and mosques before usage.
The president made this known during his 10th Address to the nation. Meanwhile, Ghana’s case count of COVID-19 stood at 8,070 with 2,947 recoveries as well as 36 fatalities. However, closer of the country’s borders is still in place whiles political activities are opened except political rallies.
