A statement issued from the presidency posted by Eugen Arhin Director of communications at the presidency indicated that, the president of the republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is still in Ghana, refusing media reportage that the president has been flown outside for medical attention after he went into self-isolation at the time a close contact of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo tested positive of COVID-19.
“Kindly disregard the FALSE STORY published by the Herald Newspaper to the effect that the President was on Saturday “flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment”. It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination. The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols” Mr. Arhin stated.
It was reported earlier by the Herald news paper that the president has been flown to United kingdom for treatment of COVID-19 sourcing the Jubilee house but hours later the Director of communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin took to his facebook account shared by the ministry of information refusing the claims outright.
He shared the picture of the president who went into self-isolation yesterday after testing negative of COVID-19 with his wife and two children distancing within a round table.
Meanwhile, the shared picture brought another crop of controversies on social media as many are quizing the originality of the image stressing that the picture was not taken recently after he went for the isolation and others were worried whether he went for the isolation with his family as they were seen sitting with the president around the same time table.
