Zoomlion Ghana Limited in collaboration with government through the ministry of education disinfected the Hilla Liman Technical University in Wa in the Upper West region and other training colleges in the region as part of government move in reopening tertiary institutions partially.
Mr. Emmanuel Volisuuri Upper West Regional Manager of Zoomlion Ghana says the initiative has been taken to disinfect all tertiary schools in Ghana as government took steps in reopening some tertiary schools in Ghana adding that the Wa Technical University (Hilla Liman Technical University) and training colleges within were those captured in the disinfection exercise.
He advised students of the various institutions to still stick to practicing of the COVID-19 safety protocols stressing that, the disinfection exercise was not a 100% remedy to curtailing the spread of the coronavirus and other viruses. The exercise was done on Sunday August 23, 2020.
Meanwhile, Abu Fatawu Estate Officer of the Hilla Liman Technical University thanked government and Zoomlion Ghana for the initiative taken explaining the disinfection exercise will help allay the fears of many students and lecturers of contracting the virus from the school.
He also indicated that as the students are returning to school, management of the institution is also seeing to it that all the laid down COVID-19 protocols are strictly adhered to by both students and lecturers. Lecture halls, washrooms as well as the administration block of the school were all disinfected.
