The Kaarasung Farmers Society in Loggu on Wednesday January 29, 2020 awarded thirty outstanding pupils of the Loggu D/A Primary and JHS for placing first and second in their respective classes.
The categories consist two people each representing best male and female from the class.
Before presenting the prizes of exercise books and mathematical set to the Education Directorate to be given to the pupils, John Dramani, leader of the farmer’s group encouraged the them to pay serious attention to the studies. Whiles enumerating some successes chalked by the group, he added that their area of production is Shea butter and groundout oil.
GIZ presentative, Aline educated the pupils on the repercussions of bush burning. She lamented the spate at which people hastily burn the bush adding it destroys the nutrients needed in proper growth of plants.
Abu Iddrisu, an extension officer with the Wa East Office of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture asked farmers not to just see farming as an avenue to only feed their families but also venture into its business aspects. That way, he said would help them eliminate poverty.
