Lanjimbu Care Foundation a not for profit making organisation in partnership with Hon Nura an illustrious son of the Wa Municipality has supported St Benedict R/C KG school at Kpongu in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region with cement and other building materials to erect structures that will help enhance teaching and learning.
The Foundation under the watch Hon Nura, has been committing resources in the last few years to help fight illiteracy in the Municipality.
Meanwhile, Mr Adam Director of LC Fondation who presented the items to the school authorities at Kpongu, emphasized the need to educate young people stating that this will help secure brighter future, not just for the children but for the larger society.
He challenged parents to take charge of their wards’ education rather than relying on the efforts of government and NGOs whose responsibilities are always minimal.
On her part, Vida Evelyn Ponedong, Headmistress of the school, who received the items on behalf of the school’s management said, efforts are being made to improve the performance of pupils on Basic Education Certificate Examinations in the school, adding that the support given them will help mitigate some of the challenges they were suffering from.
However, Hon Nura his outfit is committed to enhancing the welfare of children, hence the need to aid in enlightening them to become key contributors to the development of society.
