Parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party for the Wa Central constituency, Hajjia Humu Awudu has indicated that, the recent reshaping of the Wa-Jonga 13km road was done solely by her own resources.
She noted that, reshaping of the road was an agreement she had with the people of Jonga prior to the NPP orphan constituency primaries as the bad nature of the road was one of their major challenges adding that, the recent reshaping was done in line with the promise she made to the people of Jonga.
“During my campaigns prior to our primaries, residents of Jonga complained a lot about their road, they usually call on me to give them water and work on their road and I promised them that I will surely heed to their call after the primaries, so I used my own resources and hired a grader, fueled it to go and grade the road. I heard a lot of talks that I am using IPEP project, I want to challenge anyone who has evidence that I am using IPEP project to bring it out”.
The Parliamentary Candidate added that nothing is wrong if she has the will power to reshape the Jonga road for the people to use whiles waiting for government’s plans of tarring the road noting that her interest is to see the people of Jonga commuting on a good road.
“What is wrong if I go to reshape the road for the people to use whiles waiting for government plans of tarring the road? Government has its own plan for the people of Jonga” she stated.
Meanwhile, Hajjia Humu Awudu gave a quick jap on the Wa Central Member of parliament Hon. Hassan Rashid Pelpou who chastised the works of the PC stating that government skewed plans and diverted state funds to an individual (the NPP’s Wa Central PC) dubbing it as an act of criminality which is unacceptable. Responding to the Wa Central MP, she challenged him to provide evidence that she was sponsored by government through IPEP.
“It was unfortunate that our MP Dr. Rashid Pelpou took to facebook and I read his post [the issue was not only about the fact that the projects are done with state money are unacceptably attributed to a PC, is all about the dishonest allocation of state funds to a private individual which is the PC rather than a state employee to do things on private gains, this is criminal] now our MP has taken the issue that government gave me the project as an individual also the PC to the work which is criminal, I want to challenge MP to come out with evidence that this contract is awarded to Hajjia Humu through IPEP. Before you level some of these allegations, you must have evidence to prove that this contract has been awarded through IPEP to Hajjia” Humu’s stated.
When asked by Radio Waa 92.1fm’s Wagyaa Yela host Bamie Tahir-Ahmed Tuesday May 12,2020 on the purported document circulating on social media having listed IPEP projects awarded to NPP PCs by the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Humu said the document lacks credibility adding that some people came out with it to peddle falsehood.
He emphasised that, anyone who doubts her to contact the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority whether their outfit has given her funds or awarded the reshaping of the road to her or anyone of which she is making capital out of.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NDA when contacted by Radio Waa 92.1fm on Monday 11,2020 earlier said they have actually carved out plans of reshaping some roads of which the Jonga road was part but has not given any contract to Hajjia Humu Awudu even though the Wa Central constituency has gotten some projects from through the efforts of the PC.
