Richard D. Dombo a son of the late SD Dombo a former Member of Parliament for the then Jirapa Lambussie district now Jirapa Municipality, has supported the Jirapa constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party with some 12 Apsonic 125 motorbikes and 15 bicycles to aid the party in its electioneering campaigns ahead of the December 7 polls.
He also donated 5 motorbikes and 5 bicycles to the regional office of the NPP to boost their mobility during the electioneering campaigns.
Addressing the gathered party functionaries of the NPP, Mr. Richard D. Dombo CEO of Ghana Railway Authority said, he took the gesture as part of his own contribution to the party in the constituency and the region at large.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the bikes provided them and ensure that the items donated meet the intended purpose.
On his part, Parliamentary Candidate for the Jirapa constituency also former Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Paul Darigubaa expressed his gratitude to the donor and assured him of putting the bikes into good use. He jingered party faithfuls and the donor by accentuating that, the NPP is taking over the seat of the constituency from the largest opposition NDC.
Mr. Derigubaa also indicated that some others have supported the party with some cash and valuables to support the electioneering campaigns.
Meanwhile, Upper West Regional Chairman of the NPP, S.B Kangyere who received the region’s share of the motorbikes and bicycles expressed gratitude to Mr. Richard D. Dombo for the kind gesture and was optimistic that the goods donated will boost the NPP’s activities in the region during the campaigns.
