The Member of parliament for the Sissala East constituency, Hon. Ridwan Abass Dauda has indicated that, as a Member of parliament he has delivered on his mandate in all angles stressing that he will continue the good works he has been doing for the people of Sissala East constituency even after exiting the parliamentary seat.
He stated that, a good leader needs not to become an MP before he can offer his help to his people adding that, his good works will forever be seen and remembered by the people of Sissala East constituency. Hon. Ridwan was quick to add that he has helped a lot of youth from the constituency to get jobs and will still continue such after his tenure of office as an MP.
“It is not being a Member of Parliament that you can help people, I have paid y dues as a Member of Parliament, if you go to Sissala East I have done a lot for the youth and they know what I have done for them, through me some of them have been employed on the security sector and I have helped others get jobs with good salaries” he noted.
Touching on the NPP fortunes in Sissala East under the leadership of Hon. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku as Parliamentary candidate for the party, Hon. Ridwan indicated that he will support the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister and the NPP to win the Sissala East constituency adding that he is the first person from the NPP who has won the seat for the party and will do whatever it takes for the party to retain the seat.
“I will do whatever it takes in my power to get the NPP win in Sissala East, I am the first NPP member who won Sissala East constituency and in Upper West Region I am the youngest person from this region to go to parliament. I have a good name on that and will want to see the party win the constituency. After the primaries I went round and greeted my constituents and everywhere I go I usually tell the people to make sure that Hon. Chinnia and NPP win the seat and I made it clear that the small small support they are getting if we don’t have an MP they will not get them again” he stated.
The Sissala East MP said even though people have been calling on him not to support Hon. Chinnia his contender, he was emphatic that he is matured and as a leader he only listens a lot but talk less stressing that he will be all out to support the candidate and the party.
“People think that when you lose primaries you should not help the winner, people come to you telling you that you shouldn’t support your opponent, I am matured and listens a lot and don’t talk a lot as a leader, I will support Hon. Chinnia in all means. The thing is I have lost the primaries and I take it in good faith, what next is what are we doing to get the party win the seat, that is what we should be doing”.
He added that, Hon. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku is now the commander in Chief and will be directing the campaigns and they will be doing the add-ups stating that if the party under the watch of Chinnia works hard the seat will be retained.
“Hon. Issahaku Chinnia is the commander in chief, he will direct the campaigns if he says fire we are firing and if he says cease fire we will cease fire. He will lead the party in the constituency and we will be doing the add-ups. If we work hard we will win the seat hands down”.
