Former president of the republic of Ghana who doubles as 2020 Presidential candidate of the NDC, H.E John Dramani Mahama has said that government business is about common sense and strategic planning. He explained that “government is about common sense and planning hence the move to build the community day Senior High Schools across the country”. Mr Mahama mentioned that if completed, the community days schools would have absorbed the increasing numbers of school children.
He bemoaned the refusal of the NPP’s government to complete the projects despite the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy that brought increasing numbers in Ghana’s student population.
Mr. Mahama explicitly stated that his next government will complete the E-blocks as that will help abolish the double track system resulted from the FSHS policy.
On road network, the NDC’s Presidential candidate noted that the Wa-Dorimon road had already been awarded on contract before they; the NDC exited power adding that the road would have been bituminised if the NDC was still in power.
On payment of Assembly Members, H.E John Dramani Mahama said the Assembly Members play an integral role in the development of the country yet less attention had been given to them by both past and current governments thus his resolve to introduce and legalize their payment. He made this known at Dorimon when he paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and people of the Dorimon traditional area as part of his 4-day tour of the Upper West Region.
