The Director of Programmes at the National Youth Authority, Mumuni Sulemana has attributed the recent abuse of young girls on social media and online platforms to what he described as “girls easily over loving their counterparts”.
He said young girls easily trust their male partners and in the name of love resort to sharing nude photographs and videos. Mr Sulemana said these photographs then find their way onto the various platforms.
According to him, the online platforms are there for the young people to use for educational purposes rather than the immoral activities that had come to be the reality. He said “online platforms are for positivity and not negativity”
He charged young girls to distance themselves from sharing their private parts with the opposite sex all in the name of love and trust.
The Director of Programmes made this known whiles addressing young girls at Wa during the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child under the theme “Freedom online”.
