DBI: Rebecca Foundation constructs US$50k worth library facility

Rebecca Foundation under the office of the first lady of the republic, has supported the people of Daffiama Bussie Issa district with US$50,000 worth library facility constructed and well stocked with books that will help boost the performance of students in the district.

Commissioning the project at Issa on Thursday June 25, 2020,  Press Secretary of Rebecca Foundation, Richard Dako says the foundation as part of its activities to improve teaching and learning in the country is constructing four library facilities with ICT equipment in the country and DBI was fortunate to have been captured and being the first to get their own commissioned.

He also indicated that, the foundation is carrying out series of projects and activities that will inure to the benefit of the Ghanaian citizens especially students as well as teachers adding that the foundation is currently running e-learning programmes on various television stations to aid students in this pandemic era.

On his part, District Chief Executive of the Daffiama Bussie Issa district, Hon. Nadi Imoro Sanda noted that, the district has been yearning for library for a very long time indicating that the gesture taken by the foundation was timely and therefore expressed his gratitude to the first lady Her Excellency Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

He also noted that, provision of the library was going to boost the performance of the students in DBI especially BECE and was optimistic that the library will be put into good use to yield the needed benefits intended to accomplish from the project.

Hon. Sanda further indicated with joy that the honour done them by no less a person than the first lady of the republic Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo will contribute to the upbringing of many other prominent people from the Daffiama Bussie Issa district.

Meanwhile, some few residents who witnessed the commissioning revealed their excitement to Radio Waa news stating that the edifice will improve the lives of students tremendously.
