Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has indicated that, it is now time for the political leaders in Ghana to come together and develop the country stressing that, God wasn’t happy the way democracy was turned into in Ghana and has now made it in a way that for anything that has to be executed in Ghana by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (Number 1), he Bagbin (Number 3) must agree before it commences.
“NPP’s leader president Akufo-Addo is number one but God has made it in a way that he cannot do anything if number 3 (Bagbin as Speaker) refuses or disagrees to his decision, this shows that God wasn’t happy the way we were using the democracy and He now wants us to come together and develop the country. Nothing can be done in Ghana here again without Number 1 (Nana Addo) and number 3 (Alban Bagbin) coming into consensus. Whatever number one wants to do if it is not in the interest of the public number three will not agree” Bagbin stated.
The Speaker said all the happenings Ghanaians have been seeing in parliament are things that will help strengthen the democracy the country practices; he added that the MPs engage in the banters to ensure that the right thing is done emphasising that all the MPs in parliament are yearning for development and will not sanction any policy that will offshoot the developmental agenda of the country.
