ActionAid Ghana an affiliate of ActionAid International on Friday April 24,2020 released its survivors centre to the Upper West Regional COVID-19 pandemic management team to be used as an isolation centre to house COVID-19 patients.
Geoge Dery, Upper West Regional Programmes Manager for ActionAid, says the gesture was taken after the COViD-19 team requested for their support in the fight against coronavirus adding that, ActionAid and the Wa Municipal Assembly have shared some good relationship hence their bid to contribute their widow’s mite towards the fight. He also appealed to other benevolent organisations in the region to emulate these good steps taken by ActionAid.
Meanwhile, the Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaj Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, indicated that, ActionAid has been one of their strong pillars in the Municipality when it comes to supporting the Municipality adding that the good times they have shared for so many years is something they cannot over looked.
On his part, Upper West Regional Minister, Hon Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih who received the edifice on behalf of the region, showed his appreciation to ActionAid revealing that, they are several people and corporate bodies who came to the aid of the region in these trying times including ActionAid stressing that, the Nana Addo led NPP government will surely lead the country out of the pandemic.
